Alternative Christmas Greetings
Supplies needed
Plug-in VanDerLee snowflakeFont of choice I used Bradley Hand ITC
Tube of your choice
I used the artwork of Jonathon Raya aka Uxorious
MY supplies here
Do not redistribute supplies they are for use with this tutorial only And may not be used in any other tutorial without my permission.
I used the art of Jonathan Raya.
Open psp 600 x 600
Set background colour to white background colour to black
> preset tool > rectangle > > stroke 1 > covert to raster > rename layer postcard
Preset tool > rectangle set stroke 1 > un-tick fill > stroke colour black > draw a small rectangle top right corner
> convert to raster Image > rename layer stamp
Preset tool > ellipse > circle un-tick fill > stroke colour black >
draw a small circle half way over your rectangle > convert to raster layer
Duplicate and move to next to previous circle > Repeat till you have covered the length of the rectangle > rename layer circles
Hide the postcard and stamp layers > right click on circle layer and duplicate >
move and position circle half way over bottom edge of rectangle
Duplicate circle layer again > image rotate > free rotate
Use raster deform tool and move to left hand side of rectangle > you will notice the circles are not long enough
> duplicate layer and position next to the circles when u are happy > right click on layer and merge down
Erase tool > rub out the extra circles > duplicate layer > raster deform tool and move to the right hand side of rectangle
Make sure Postcard layer and stamp is X out and merge visible
Unhide Stamp Layer > magic wand tool > click inside stamp till it becomes antilised > click circle layer >
hit delete key on your keyboard the inside half of the circles should have no been deleted
Selections > select none merge down with stamp layer > you should be left with just two layers stamp and postcard
Foreground colour black > pen tool > select straight line > line width 1 >
draw a line down the middle of your postcard > convert to raster layer >merge down with Postcard layer
Preset tool > rectangle set stroke 1 > un-tick fill > stroke colour black > draw a rectangle
on the left hand side of the postcard leaving a small edge of white > convert to raster Image
Magic wand tool select inside the rectangle we have just drawn > click postcard layer
> hit delete on keyboard > and merge rectangle with postcard layer
Selections > select none
Open the postcard Background supplied > edit copy > edit paste as new layer > move layer below postcard layer
Open Jonathon Raya Bizarre world tube image > resize 30 % > paste as new layer
Open stamp background > position behind stamp layer
Merge down Jonathon Raya Bizarre small tube, stamp background, and stamp onto Postcard layer
Merge down > Jonathon Raya Bizarre larger tube with Background layer and rename Background
You should now only have two layers postcard and background
Open Jonathon Raya Christmas tube image > resize 55% > position him bottom right corner of the background layer
Effects > 3d effects > drop shadow
Raster deform tool and move the shadow layer slightly to the right merge down Jonathon Raya Christmas tube ,
shadow layer and X out to hide them
Text > Colour Black > Bradley Hand ITC > size 12 > align Left > I used part of Tim Burton Nightmare before Christmas poem
> covert to raster layer > duplicate layer > merge Text layer down with postcard layer
Text > Colour Black > Bradley Hand ITC > size 48 > name > merge down with postcard layer
Text > Colour Black > Bradley Hand ITC > size 8 > Art © Jonathan Raya Uxorious.deviiantart.com
> merge down with postcard layer
X out the background layer so you should now have only the Postcard layer visible and the background layer
and Jonathon Raya Christmas tube are hidden
Magic wand tool click inside the postcard rectangle > it should now be antilised > while antilised click new raster layer
Effects > plug-in > VanDeeLee Snowflake > settings below
New raster layer > Effects > plug-in > VanDeeLee Snowflake > change random seed to 189
New raster layer > Effects > plug-in > VanDeeLee Snowflake > change random seed to 252
Selections > select none
Unhide Jonathon Raya Christmas tube and merge down with postcard layer
Open Stamp frank supplied and paste as new layer > merge down with postcard
Duplicate Background layer so you have 3layer of it in total
Duplicate the postcard so you have 3 in total
You should have nine layers now in total
Hide all layers except one of each layer (postcard, snowflake, background)
Right click merge Visible > X out the merge layer
Unhide one Postcard, snowflake, and background layer > merge visible > x out merge layer
Unhide the last Postcard, snowflake, and background layer > merge visible merge layer
You should now be left with just 3 layers all identical > unhide all layers
Crop tool and draw round your postcard and click the tick (check mark) to apply
SAVE
Open animation resize 90% and save
